Small Business Saturday Author Double Feature

The Book Garden in Frenchtown is keeping it local to kick off the holiday season with visits from two area favorites – Carrie Havraneck and Brandi Megan Granett on Saturday, Nov. 30th for Small Business Saturday.

Food writer, Carrie Havraneck will be sharing stories on local favorites plus a few holiday meal tips from her new cookbook, Tasting Pennsylvania: Favorite Recipes from the Keystone State, from 2pm to 4pm.

Tasting Pennsylvania  showcases 108 recipes from the best restaurants, inns, diners, cafés, and bed-and-breakfasts across the state. Mouthwatering photographs complement each recipe. Carrie Havranek writes about food and travel from Easton, where she is a dedicated shopper of the Easton Farmers’ Market. She is the co-author of “Frommer’s Philadelphia & the Amish Country” and the blogger behind The Dharma Kitchen.

Author Brandi Megan Granett is celebrating the launch of her fourth novel, Ever Glad, from 3pm to 5pm. In the novel, eleven-year-old Willow wants to be a scientist like her father. She enjoys discovering and recording what she sees, from the trees to the mushrooms to the plants and animals in her forest home in Pennsylvania. But after a mysterious encounter with the owner of the Odds and Ends Shop in the tiny town where her family shops, she discovers she has a new gift—the ability to see into others’ past lives.

Moving from the cool forests of the Allegheny Mountains to the exotic wildlife of the Florida Everglades, and then to the city streets of Washington D.C., this family saga with touches magical realism is set in the 1960s. It will delight and enchant its readers.
