Meet Food Expert and Author Hannah Howard on May 12

Hannah Howard’s raw and relatable memoir FEAST: True Love In and Out of the Kitchen is the story of a woman in conflict—with herself, with her body, and with food—all while working in the not-always glamorous New York City culinary scene.
She will be sharing her story at The Book Garden in Frenchtown on Saturday, May 12 from 3pm to 5pm.

Hannah Howard is a writer and food expert who spent her formative years in New York eating, drinking, serving, bartending, cooking on a hot line, and flipping giant wheels of cheese in Manhattan landmarks such as Picholine and Fairway Market. Her work has been published in New York magazine, VICE, and Self. She also mentors women recovering from eating disorders by helping them build happy, healthy relationships with food and themselves.

“We are looking forward to hearing more from this amazing young woman who tells her story so honestly,” said Caroline Scutt, co-owner of The Book Garden. “Hannah’s story resonates with women of all ages who have struggled with weight, body image, and self-esteem. This beautifully written memoir absolutely resonates with me.”

On Saturday, May 12, The Book Garden welcomes Hannah Howard to celebrate her remarkable first memoir, “FEAST: True Love In and Out of the Kitchen.” The talk and signing will be from 3 to 5 p.m., with a reading at 4 p.m. For more information follow The Book Garden on Facebook, email: or call 908-996-2022.
