The Book Garden in Frenchtown is launching its second series of SPARK Workshops this month. This successful series features a variety of writing workshops as well as several other programs taught by experts in their fields and designed to help individuals release their creative energy.
New workshops this year are a motivational series taught by life coach, Lisa Mastroianni and a Graphic Narrative – telling your story through graphic art, taught by Shannon O’Connell.
The first four-week program, Writing a Memoir, taught by Dodge Poetry Festival Poet and Creative Writing Instructor, Skye Van Saun, will be held on Saturday Mornings: Jan 18th, 25th, Feb 1 and 2, 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m.
Already have a manuscript, or plan to have one soon? Join Introduction to Book Publishing, a three-week course taught by author Loren Spiotta-DiMare, who has a wide range of experience publishing through traditional publishers as well as self-publishing. This course will be held Sunday afternoons: Jan 19, 26, Feb 2, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Celebrated poet John Smith will be leading a three-week Poetry Workshop beginning on Thursday, March 13 at 7:00pm. His poetry has appeared in NJ Audubon since the 1980s and in numerous literary magazines. His most recent collection, Even That Indigo “Red Moon,” featured in his recently published collection, Even That Indigo, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2013.
